Rex Dive Center Open Water Programs.
Rex Dive's Schedule may experience minor adjustments due to unforeseen pool closures or weather. This may result in adjustments of current and future courses by one or two weeks. Please check with the dive shop via email or phone call to verify current schedule.
Rex Dive frequently adds courses when small groups request non-scheduled dates. These may be available for members of the general public. Again, calling the shop is the easiest way to confirm schedule. Private classes are available.
Contact Jon Wilkins or Steve Wallace to discuss 'private courses' that can be as low as $249 per person in groups of 8 or more. Our 'no hidden cost' courses include books, DVD, instruction, pool fees and rental scuba gear; BCD, regulator, weight belt/weights and wetsuit.
Students provide personal gear (mask, snorkel & fins, bathing suit) Prices are listed below (most $249-$349) and differ due to schedule and location expenses.
Course completes Academic and Confined Water requirements for PADI Open Water Diver course. Open water certification dives can be completed on vacation worldwide with PADI referral package or with Rex Dive throughout 2008 (see details below.)
Online 1½ Day Course
Rex Dive Exclusive; Perfect for Commuters and Their Families.
Students complete all text/DVD materials prior to course. Students use Rex's online PADI program for completing the 5 required Knowledge Reviews that are corrected automatically for immediate progress feedback. Students receive online and phone correspondence with PADI instructor to insure quality.
Weekend sessions allow for Review, 4 required Quizzes and Final Exam to be administered followed by 5.5-8.5 hours of pool instruction. This class is limited to 1-4 students, who ideally have previous scuba or snorkeling experience. Due to course size and staff ratio (1 staff per 2 students) course is frequently completed without Sunday session required. Course Fee: $499.
OPEN WATER DIVER
The practical section of the program to get your PADI Certification Card
is the Open Water weekend. Under the supervision of your PADI Diving instructor and divemaster(s), you will put to use the skills you learned in the classroom and pool. If you traveling to a dive vacation, we can provide Referral letters so you can complete the required Open Water dives with one of PADI's hundreds of affiliates around the world.

Norwalk WMCA
Complete PADI Academic and Confined Water Requirements in one weekend. Students read textbook, complete self Knowledge Reviews and watch DVD prior to course. While compacted schedule, course includes 9 hours of academic and 8 1/2 hours of pool time!

Dive Travel
Caribbean Open Water Checkout Locations.
We often have trips going to the Caribbean, or you can go on your own vacation and we will provide you with a referral package for your PADI Instructor at the location you are going to.
Advanced Water Diver Deluxe
Course meets for one classroom and one pool session typically on a Sunday afternoon followed by five dives over the following weekend. Use of DUI dry suit for pool and open water sessions is included. A sixth dive may be done for dry suit certification for an additional $ 100.
Fees include instruction, Dutch Springs admissions, 3 piece dive light kit to keep ($129 msrp), tanks/weights, crew pack(s) and PADI certification(s).

PADI Advanced Open Water Course (AOW) - $ 399.00
PADI Specialty / Adventure Dives Weekend - $75.00 per dive
The Specialty Weekend Program offers single adventure dives or full specialty options to divers of all levels: certified divers, adventure divers, advanced open water candidates, rescue divers, master scuba diver hopefuls, divemasters, assistant instructors, and instructors seeking specialty instructor training. From a list of available specialties participants could choose up to three adventure dives per day toward a certification or specialty. Price: Adventure Dives @ $75 per dive (includes instruction, required PADI materials, instructional gear & certification) Dutch Springs entry fees, scuba gear and air
Dry Suit Diver
Extend your diving season or increase your comfort by learning to dive "dry". Course fee includes class/pool on Sunday 1-5pm, text, dry suit use, and 2 check out dives following Saturday. Site fees/fills extra.
Rescue Diver
Course meets for three classrooms, 1-2 pool sessions, and several open water dive scenario's over two days. Fees include instruction, textbook/use of DVD, air fills and PADI certification. Site fees, and optional lodging extra.

Emergency First Response
As of 2006 REQUIRED FOR PADI RESCUE. Course meets for two-three 3 hour sessions (7-10pm.) Both sessions offer training in CPR, Primary and Secondary First Aid, Oxygen delivery and AED for adult and/or child/infant. Individuals and families are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable training.
Fees include instruction, DVD use, text, certification. Barrier mask extra if not already owned. Scuba diving certification not required

DAN O2 Provider
This Divers Alert Course is recommended to all scuba divers in the event a fellow diver needs emergency oxygen. Course fee include instruction, text, equipment, Oxygen and DAN Provider certification. Each course is about 4 hours @ REX at dates /times listed below. Also, check back re: a full DAN program for 2008 including monthly DAN courses i.e. Advanced O2, Hazardous Marine Life Injuries, etc.
